Christopher A. Richey

President

Chris began his financial career as a financial analyst with International Business Machines in Raleigh, North Carolina, and Somers, New York. He was a financial advisor with Raymond James before founding Nautilus Wealth Management, LLC, in 2008.

Chris applies an intergenerational and holistic vision to assisting families with the creation, preservation, and distribution of wealth. He strives to ensure that his clients have a comprehensive plan for financial strength in the areas of wealth accumulation, tax planning, estate planning, and risk management.

He holds FINRA Series 6, 7, 63, and 65 securities registrations through Commonwealth Financial Network and his North Carolina Life and Health Insurance license. He earned a BS in business administration from East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina.

Chris and his wife, Suzanne, live in New Bern, North Carolina and are now empty nesters. They still enjoy spending time with their young adult children as much as Camden and Samantha will allow.  They continue to enjoy an active lifestyle of boating, surfing, and riding horses as a family.

In early 2023, Suzanne achieved her long-cherished dream of owning her own art gallery and is the proud owner of Carolina Creations in New Bern.  As an artist herself, she has a strong admiration for and desire to support the art community.

Chris has faithfully served First Presbyterian Church as a past Session Elder, committee member, and the Foundation Board. He has also held leadership positions with Neuse River Chapter of the Coastal Conservation Association, New Bern Rotary Club, and Coastal Carolina Classrooms. Currently, Chris is serving as a board member of Swiss Bear Foundation and New Bern Historical Society.
